Hereby, in this article, I would like to reveal some of the widely held Belief about SAP (Systems, Applications, Products in Data Processing) Certification but all false and not true about the said certification. I am not tending to degrade the value of SAP Certification as it is full of advantages. But in my personal opinion, there are some contradicting views or myths on SAP Certification:
1. 100% job assurance is provided in SAP Certification:
It is not true that job can be easily achieved by doing the Certification. Rather SAP Certification will add values to the job seeker in terms of qualification for jobs.
2. High Paying Jobs given with SAP Certification.
Simply a SAP Certification will not give a high paying job. The only reason for the same is cut-through competition in the professional world. Emphasis should be given on practical experience rather than expecting higher salary in the initial working phase.
3. SAP certification will give a good job in your area.
There are unusual travel need in the SAP related job. So it is a myth that the SAP related job should be in your area.
4. Learning the same only for jobs and certification.
The SAP Certification is not confined to jobs and certifications but for domain knowledge as well.
5. Good Returns could be yielded on SAP Certification.
For the certification in question, it requires a huge amount of money for expenses. And for this many people use to borrow money from banks as loan. They even use to borrow money from the private money lenders and repayment remains in a lurch in case there is no job.
6. To get a Highest Paid job SAP Certification is essential.
There are many people who are more demanded who are doing a good job and simultaneously, earning good money. At last you can see that these people are not SAP certified but they have enormous work experience in the arena. My intention is not to discourage you from the Certification, but practical experience matters.
7. Deliver the customers requirement with SAP Certification.
The deliverables will not take place by an individual by holding a SAP certification but a practical experience is imperative.
8. Interview Success after SAP Certification.
We do not know, what the interviewer will ask in the interview. Since interviews are the primary medium of getting a job, SAP Certification alone could not serve the purpose.
9. SAP Certification is the last resort in your professional career.
SAP Certification is not the ultimate thing in one’s career. Because the needs of the customers are increasing is changing and obviously increasing. That‘s why it is told that SAP Certification is a continuous process and therefore multiple SAP certifications are required, e.g. SAP FICO 4.6C in 2003 was popular, but now a days, the expectations are different and a different version of the certification is required.
10. SAP Certification will give you contract related job.
The belief that SAP Certification will give you jobs in contract, but this is not true, rather it totally depends on the caliber so as to get the nature of jobs.
Like any other career option SAP also need domain expertise along with the certification. So, if you really want to be successful and prosper with your SAP Career then let the misconceptions be the misconceptions and put your complete zeal to get the certification along with the particular domain knowledge.
