The BW support consultant will be responsible for supporting the existing solution, future solutions as well as implementing enhancements as they arise.
The suitable candidate will be part of the Philips IT Application BI Team in order to support the BW applications and aid the support of technical BW and other BI Functional areas. Understanding the Finance, Sales and marketing business processes would be desired. Exposure to the relevant SAP R/3 module would be an advantage.
Where possible, opportunities for improvements, both procedural and system based should be identified and communicated. Additionally a suitable candidate will be expected to help maintain the existing excellent working relationship between Philips IT Application and the Business by demonstrating expertise in the BW application and knowledge of the business processes and understanding of possible future requirements. The BW Support consultant will be expected to work closely with business people within the Business Line and provide them with technical & functional support, advice and expertise in the solution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that calls are prioritized and solved according to SLA targets
• Responsibility for all BI application related Calls
• Update documentation repository and call handling system to reflect changes made during call resolution
• Work closely with the customer to identify possible improvements to existing design and suggest appropriate solutions
• Provide knowledge, expertise and guidance to the customer in order that potential for new work is seized upon.
• Provide expert input into the design and implementation of new additions or improvements to existing solution
• Liaise with customer and provide accurate estimate of work involved when required
• Provide guidance to business and key users
• Continually look at ways to improve service to customer
• Ensure that existing processes and procedures are adhered to at all times
• Keep users informed of progress on call resolution
• Communicate with the Businesses and Key Users in an appropriate and constructive manner at all times
Professional Skills Requirements:
• Minimum of three years experience as a SAP BW consultant in either a support or implementation role
• Experience in data acquisition, data transformation and data delivery / reporting
• Comprehensive understanding of BW modeling and design techniques
• Solid understanding of job loading, scheduling and monitoring
• Good knowledge on performance and optimization
• Knowledge of functional business areas and processes
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and process thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Goal and result orientated
• Support minded and good team spirit
Additional Experience would be beneficial:
• Exposure to the SAP ERP Solution
• Finance / Accounting Background is an advantage
• Exposure to any other BI or data warehouse system
